So all the people living now will be held responsible for all the murders of all the prophets from Zechariah to Abel.

"Y'all experts on the code of Moses will get what's coming to you! You took the key to knowledge and hid it so no one else could get it, not even yourselves."

While all this was happening, many thousands of people had shown up to see and hear Jesus. There were so many people around that some were getting crushed. Jesus spoke to his twelve cowboys amidst the throng of folks saying, "Watch out for the religious leader's hypocrisy

The Boss has numbered the hairs on your head, so you don't have to be afraid. You are worth more than all the birds in the world.

"But God said to the rancher, 'You've been a fool, cowboy! You're gonna die tonight, and someone else will get everything you've worked so hard for.'

So the moral of the story is not to waste your life on things, but store up treasure in heaven by a genuine ride with the Boss."

Then Jesus spoke again to his twelve cowboys, "So don't fret about what you will eat or wear.

So if the Boss takes such care with flowers that are here one day and gone the next, how much more will he care for you? Why do you doubt God so much?

"Keep your britches on and your boots by your bed. Keep a light burning in the barn so you can catch your horse at a moment's notice.

So how can you be so foolish as to not see what is happening right here in front of you? You can see the signs and make accurate predictions, but in this instance, you are all as blind as bats.

"So the rancher said, 'Bring the mavericks and the mistresses, the whores, and the harlots. Tell the outlaws and rabble-rousers they are welcome. I want their bellies, and my ranch, full.

So Jesus said,

The boy was so hungry that even the pig's food looked appetizing because he was starving to death.

"So the boy headed for home, and while he was still a long way off, his dad spotted him walking up the road. His dad was nothing but relieved and happy at the sight of his boy coming back. He bolted out of the house and ran toward his son. The dad wrapped him in his arms and kissed him on his cheek.

I know what I'll do! I'll make some quick friends by using the rancher's business so I can call in some favors after I'm fired.'

"So he called in everyone who owed the rancher anything and made them a deal to reduce their debt. He asked the first one, 'How much do you owe my boss?'

So here's what I'm trying to tell you, use any earthly gain you have to help people. And when you have nothing left, God will welcome you in.

Jesus told 'em, "Y'all are the ones who try to look so good in other people's eyes, but the Boss knows what kind of leather you're made of. The things you and the world hold in high regard are useless in the eyes of the Boss.

"But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that while you were living, you had everything and Lazarus had nothing. You never lifted a finger for him, so why should he dip his finger in the water for you. He will now be comforted, and you will feel his pain.

Just like lightning will light up the sky from horizon to horizon, so it will be when the Top Hand comes ridin' back on his horse.
