The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; also his mother, who has been a mother to me as well. Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them. Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name.

so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

"For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
