So give for alms those things that are within; and see, everything will be clean for you.

If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!

be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks.

If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.

He also said to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, ‘It is going to rain'; and so it happens.

So he said to the gardener, ‘See here! For three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and still I find none. Cut it down! Why should it be wasting the soil?'

But they were silent. So Jesus took him and healed him, and sent him away.

But when you are invited, go and sit down at the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher'; then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.

So the slave returned and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his slave, ‘Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'

Then the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the roads and lanes, and compel people to come in, so that my house may be filled.

So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions.

So he told them this parable:

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the property that will belong to me.' So he divided his property between them.
