Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?

And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah's head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, "It is better for me to die than to live."

I said, "Surely you will fear Me, You will receive instruction'-- So that her dwelling would not be cut off, Despite everything for which I punished her. But they rose early and corrupted all their deeds.

21 And I said, "What are these coming to do?" So he said, "These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen [fn] are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it."

But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.

"But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate."

"The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah.

"Who is there even among you who would shut the doors, So that you would not kindle fire on My altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you," Says the LORD of hosts, "Nor will I accept an offering from your hands.

"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the LORD of hosts;

so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. [fn]

And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, [fn] there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way.

Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and [fn] mute man both spoke and saw.

And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

For the hearts of this people have grown dull.Their ears are hard of hearing,And their eyes they have closed,Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,So that I should [fn] heal them.' Isaiah 6:9, 10 ">[fn]

which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."

When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority [fn] He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."

However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.
