As new babies want milk, you should want to drink the pure milk which is God's Word so you will grow up and be saved from the punishment of sin.

But you are a chosen group of people. You are the King's religious leaders. You are a holy nation. You belong to God. He has done this for you so you can tell others how God has called you out of darkness into His great light.

When someone does something bad to you, do not do the same thing to him. When someone talks about you, do not talk about him. Instead, pray that good will come to him. You were called to do this so you might receive good things from God.

Christ suffered and died for sins once for all. He never sinned and yet He died for us who have sinned. He died so He might bring us to God. His body died but His spirit was made alive.

For this reason, the Good News was preached to the dead. They stood in the flesh before the One Who judges so they might live in the Spirit as God wants.

The end of the world is near. You must be the boss over your mind. Keep awake so you can pray.

If a man preaches, let him do it with God speaking through him. If a man helps others, let him do it with the strength God gives. So in all things God may be honored through Jesus Christ. Shining-greatness and power belong to Him forever. Let it be so.

So if God wants you to suffer, give yourself to Him. He will do what is right for you. He made you and He is faithful.

So put away all pride from yourselves. You are standing under the powerful hand of God. At the right time He will lift you up.

God has power over all things forever. Let it be so.

They will tell lies and false stories so they can use you to get things for themselves. But God judged them long ago and their death is on the way.

And so, dear friends, now that you know this, watch so you will not be led away by the mistakes of these sinful people. Do not be moved by them.

Grow in the loving-favor that Christ gives you. Learn to know our Lord Jesus Christ better. He is the One Who saves. May He have all the shining-greatness now and forever. Let it be so.

We are writing this to you so our joy may be full.

My dear children, I am writing this to you so you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, there is One Who will go between him and the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the One Who is right with God.

God has shown His love to us by sending His only Son into the world. God did this so we might have life through Christ.

So we should help such people. That way we will be working with them as they teach the truth.

So if I come, I will show what he is doing by the bad things he is saying about us. Not only that, he will not take the Christian brothers into his home. He keeps others from doing it also. When they do, he puts them out of the church.

The church leader writes to the much-loved Gaius. I love you because of the truth. Dear friend, I pray that you are doing well in every way. I pray that your body is strong and well even as your soul is. I was very happy when some Christians came and told me about how you are following the truth. I can have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. Dear friend, you are doing a good work by being kind to the Christians, and for sure, to the strangers. They have told the church about your love. It will be good for you to help them on their way as God would have you. These people are working for the Lord. They are taking nothing from the people who do not know God. So we should help such people. That way we will be working with them as they teach the truth. I wrote a letter to the church. But Diotrephes wants to be the leader and put himself first. He will have nothing to do with us. So if I come, I will show what he is doing by the bad things he is saying about us. Not only that, he will not take the Christian brothers into his home. He keeps others from doing it also. When they do, he puts them out of the church. Dear friend, do not follow what is sinful, but follow what is good. The person who does what is good belongs to God. The person who does what is sinful has not seen God. Everyone speaks good things about Demetrius. The truth itself speaks for him. We say the same thing also and you know we are speaking the truth. I have much to write about but I do not want to write it in this letter. I hope to see you soon and then we can talk together. May you have peace. The friends here greet you. He is the only God. He is the One Who saves from the punishment of sin through Jesus Christ our Lord. May He have shining-greatness and honor and power and the right to do all things. He had this before the world began, He has it now, and He will have this forever. Let it be so.
