Then the king said to Aman, Thou hast well said: so do to Mardochaeus the Jew, who waits in the palace, and let not a word of what thou hast spoken be neglected.

So Aman took the robe and the horse, and arrayed Mardochaeus, and mounted him on the horse, and went through the street of the city, and proclaimed, saying, Thus shall it be to every man whom the king wishes to honour.

So the king and Aman went in to drink with the queen.

So Aman was hanged on the gallows that had been prepared for Mardochaeus: and then the king�s wrath was appeased.

So the scribes were called in the first-month, which is Nisan, on the three and twentieth day of the same year; and orders were written to the Jews, whatever the king had commanded to the local governors and chiefs of the satraps, from India even to Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty-seven satraps, according to the several provinces, according to their dialects.

So the horsemen went forth with haste to perform the king�s commands; and the ordinance was also published in Susa.

And Esther said to the king, let it be granted to the Jews so to treat them tomorrow as to hand the ten sons of Aman.

And he permitted it to be so done; and he gave up to the Jews of the city the bodies of the sons of Aman to hang.

Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give into thine hand all that he has, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord.

So Job arose, and rent his garments, and shaved the hair of his head, and fell on the earth, and worshipped,

and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother�s womb, and naked shall I return thither; the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.

So the devil went out from the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from his feet to his head.

because it shut not up the gates of my mother�s womb, for so it would have removed sorrow from my eyes.

yet man is born to labour, and even so the vulture�s young seek the high places.

But ye also have come to me without pity; so that beholding my wound ye are afraid.

So have I also endured months of vanity, and nights of pain have been appointed me.

I know of a truth that it is so: for how shall a mortal man be just before the Lord?

For if he would enter into judgment with him, God would not hearken to him, so that he should answer to one of his charges of a thousand.

so shall I not be afraid, but I will speak: for I am not thus conscious of guilt.

So then ye alone are men, and wisdom shall die with you?
