So when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse; to your tents, O Israel; now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

So Israel has rebelled against the house of David to this day.

So the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said to all Israel, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!

And Jeroboam made a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah, and he went up to the altar to offer sacrifices. So did he in Beth-el, sacrificing to the calves that he had made; and he appointed in Beth-el priests for the temples of idols which he had made.

And when the king heard the saying of the prophet of God which he had cried against the altar in Beth-el, the king, standing at the altar, put forth his hand, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.

For so it was charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, and drink no water, nor return again by the way that you came.

So he went by another way, and did not return by the way that he came to Beth-el.

And he said to his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass; and he rode on it,

For so it was said to me by the word of the LORD, You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return again by the same way that you came.

So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house and drank water.

And Jeroboams wife did so, and arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were dim because of his age.

And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, the guards bore them and brought them back into the guard chamber.

So when Bar-hadad heard from Asa, he sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel and destroyed lion and Dan and Abel-beth-maacah and all the towns that are in all the land of Naphtali.

So Baasha slew him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

So Baasha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni; so Tibni died and Omri reigned.

So Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

So he went and did according to the word of the LORD; for he went and dwelt by the brook of Cherith that is before the Jordan.

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

And it came to pass after these things that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore that there was no breath left in him.
