For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, form one body, so it is with Christ.Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Galatians 3:16; Ephesians 4:4,16;">[xr]

So there are many parts, but one body.

so that there might be no disharmony in the body, but that its parts should have the same concern for each other.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can understand all secrets and every form of knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains but have no love, I am nothing.Matthew 7:22; 17:20; Mark 11:23; Luke 17:6; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10,28; 14:1;">[xr]

Even if I give away all that I have and surrender my body so that I may boastmy body to be burned">[fn] but have no love, I get nothing out of it.Matthew 6:1-2;">[xr]

Now I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but especially that you could prophesy. The person who prophesies is more important than the person who speaks in a tongue, unless he interprets it so that the church may be built up.

In the same way, since you're so desirous of spiritual gifts, you must keep on desiring them for the upbuilding of the church.

The secrets in his heart will become known, and so he will bow down to the ground and worship God, declaring, "God is truly among you!"Isaiah 45:14; Zechariah 8:23;">[xr]

If anyone speaks in a tongue, only two or three at the most should do so, one at a time, and somebody must interpret.

For everyone can prophesy in turn, so that everyone can be instructed and everyone can be encouraged.

So, whether it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ will all be made alive.

But when everything has been put under him, then the Son himself will also become subject to the one who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.1 Corinthians 3:23; 11:3; Philippians 3:21;">[xr]

On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside and save some of your money in proportion to what you have, so that no collections will have to be made when I come.Acts 20:7; Revelation 1:10;">[xr]

who comforts us in all our suffering, so that we may be able to comfort others in all their suffering, since we ourselves are being comforted by God.

For just as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so our comfort overflows through Christ.Acts 9:4; 2 Corinthians 4:10; Colossians 1:24;">[xr]

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about the suffering we experienced in Asia. We were so crushed beyond our ability to endure that we even despaired of living.Acts 19:23; 1 Corinthians 15:32; 16:9;">[xr]

In fact, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not rely on ourselves but on the God who raises the dead.Jeremiah 17:5,7;">[xr]
