You even took along the tent of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, and the images you made in order to worship them. So I will remove you beyond Babylon.'Amos 5:25-27">[fn]

and said, "Give me this power too, so that when I lay my hands on someone he will receive the Holy Spirit."

So repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, this thought of your heart may be forgiven you.Daniel 4:27; 2 Timothy 2:25;">[xr]

So he got up and went. Now an Ethiopian eunuch was there. He was a member of the court of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, and was in charge of all her treasures. He had come to Jerusalem to worshipZephaniah 3:10; John 12:20;">[xr]

So Philip ran up to it and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah out loud.He asked, "Do you understand what you're reading?"

He replied, "How can I unless someone guides me?" So he invited Philip to get in and sit with him.

This was the passage of Scripture he was reading:Isaiah 53:7-8;">[xr] "Like a sheep he was led away to be slaughtered, and like a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.

So he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and Philiphe">[fn] baptized him.

and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way he might bring them in chains to Jerusalem.

When Saul got up off the ground, he couldn't see anything, even though his eyes were open. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.

He has seen in a visionin a vision">[fn] a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so he would see again."

So he went in and out among them in Jerusalem, speaking courageously in the name of the Lord.Galatians 1:18;">[xr]

So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace. As it continued to be built up and to live in the fear of the Lord, it kept increasing in numbers through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.Acts 8:1;">[xr]

So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they took him upstairs. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him all the shirts and coats Dorcas made while she was still with them.

So Peter went to the men and said, "I'm the man you're looking for. Why are you here?"

So Peterhe">[fn] invited them in, and they were his guests. The next day he got up and went with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went along with him.Acts 10:45; 11:12;">[xr]

So send messengersmessengers">[fn] to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter, to come to you. He is a guest in the home of Simon, a leatherworker, by the sea.'

So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. All of us are here now in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has ordered you to say."
