וַיִּתְאַבֵּ֖ל

אַבְשָׁלֹֽם׃

you have shamed

your servants

‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā,

of your sons

and of your daughers

ū·ḇə·nō·ṯe·ḵā,

וּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָ

and the lives

of your wives

and the lives

of your concubines

pi·laḡ·še·ḵā.

פִּלַגְשֶֽׁיךָ׃

lə·’a·hă·ḇāh

your enemies

śō·nə·’e·ḵā,

שֹׂ֣נְאֶ֔יךָ

your friends

’ō·hă·ḇe·ḵā;

you have declared

regard neither

nor servants

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm,

’aḇ·šā·lō·wm

אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם

wə·ḵul·lā·nū

of us were dead

it had pleased you well

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā.

בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃

therefore arise

to your servants

‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā;

נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתִּי

go not forth

hal·lay·lāh,

and the evil

to you than all

upon you from your youth

min·nə·‘u·re·ḵā

מִנְּעֻרֶ֖יךָ

wə·yiś·rā·’êl,

וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

lə·’ō·hā·lāw.

לְאֹהָלָֽיו׃

hiṣ·ṣî·lā·nū

הִצִּילָ֣נוּ ׀

out of the hand

of our enemies

’ō·yə·ḇê·nū,

delivered us

mil·lə·ṭā·nū

מִלְּטָ֙נוּ֙

out of the hand

of the Philistines

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

he is fled us

out of the hand

’aḇ·šā·lō·wm.

אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃

wə·’aḇ·šā·lō·wm

וְאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙

bam·mil·ḥā·māh;

בַּמִּלְחָמָ֑ה

ma·ḥă·ri·šîm

מַחֲרִשִׁ֖ים

הַכֹּהֲנִים֮

Therefore the king

וַיִּשָּׁ֥בַֽע

and Mephibosheth

ū·mə·p̄i·ḇō·šeṯ

וּמְפִבֹ֙שֶׁת֙

[again] in peace

ḇə·šā·lō·wm.

and it came to pass

to Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

that the king

Mephibosheth

mə·p̄î·ḇō·šeṯ.

מְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃

And he answered

your servant

I will saddle

אֶחְבְּשָׁה־

that I may ride

your servant

And he has slandered

your servant

bə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā,

בְּעַבְדְּךָ֔

[is] as an angel

כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

[what is] therefore good

in your sight

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā.

בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃

of [of] my father

before my lord

and yet did you set

your servant

among those who ate

at your own table

šul·ḥā·ne·ḵā;

שֻׁלְחָנֶ֑ךָ

therefore have

of your matters

də·ḇā·re·ḵā;

Mephibosheth

mə·p̄î·ḇō·šeṯ

מְפִיבֹ֙שֶׁת֙

let him take

all forasmuch

his own house

ū·ḇar·zil·lay

וּבַרְזִלַּי֙

hag·gil·‘ā·ḏî,

הַגִּלְעָדִ֔י

from Rogelim

mê·rō·ḡə·lîm;

and went over

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

hay·yar·dên,

הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן

lə·šal·lə·ḥōw

לְשַׁלְּח֖וֹ

Now Barzillai

ū·ḇar·zil·lay

וּבַרְזִלַּי֙

of sustenance

had provided the king

while he lay

ḇə·šî·ḇā·ṯōw

בְּשִׁיבָת֣וֹ

ḇə·ma·ḥă·na·yim,

בְמַחֲנַ֔יִם

for he was a very

bar·zil·lāy;

בַּרְזִלָּ֑י

over with me

and I will feed

wə·ḵil·kal·tî

וְכִלְכַּלְתִּ֥י

me in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim.

בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

בַּרְזִלַּ֖י

have I to live

I should go up

to Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim.

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

can I discern

your servant

of singing men

and singing women

wə·šā·rō·wṯ;

then should your servant

a little way

your servant

הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן

yiḡ·mə·lê·nî

יִגְמְלֵ֣נִי

should the king

hag·gə·mū·lāh

הַגְּמוּלָ֖ה

turn back again

Let your servant

that I may die

in my own city

of my father

but of my mother

your servant

let him go over

הַגִּלְגָּ֔לָה

[way·‘ĕ·ḇi·rū

[וַיְעֱבִרוּ

(he·‘ĕ·ḇî·rū

(הֶעֱבִ֣ירוּ

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ

stolen you away

have our brothers

and have brought

way·ya·‘ă·ḇi·rū

וַיַּעֲבִ֨רוּ

his household him

hay·yar·dên,

הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן

And answered

[is] near of kin

then be you angry

Have we eaten

has he given us any gift

And answered

וּמַדּ֙וּעַ֙

then did you despise

hĕ·qil·lō·ṯa·nî,

הֱקִלֹּתַ֔נִי
